Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz – Instytut Nowych Syntez Chemicznych (INS) is one of the leading Polish research institutes with over 50 years of experience in fertilizer technology production.

Lukasiewicz Institut is located in Puławy, on the premises of Nitrogen Plant GA Zakłady Azotowe Puławy – the biggest nitrogen plant in Poland and one of the biggest in the Europe, having a convenient access to industrial installations and media necessary for research activities. Łukasiewicz-INS conducts R&D works in the field of chemical & agricultural sciences with a special regard to chemical engineering. Carries out R&D works in the area of the production and application of mineral fertilizers and their impact on natural environment, catalysts, sorbents, biodegradable materials, and plant extracts. The Department of Organization, Planning & Analyses is responsible for projects management, whereas scientific departments are responsible for the technology and scientific research transfer. Scientific departments have a great experience in contacts with the chemical industry. It employs currently 329 employees, including ca. 100 in R&D. Over the last years our R&D and implementation activities have resulted in: 29 research projects, 31 implementations, 75 patents, 80 patent applications, 4 trade marks and 8 licenses sold.
