The second Cross-Fertilising Workshop of the LIFE DIMITRA Project took place on 25 June 2026 within the framework of the 13th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management (KOS2026). Held within the dedicated session titled “LIFE DIMITRA Project & Anaerobic Digestion I”, the workshop attracted significant interest from conference participants and provided an excellent platform to present the project’s latest achievements, foster scientific exchange and strengthen collaboration on innovative approaches to anaerobic digestion, digestate valorisation and nutrient recovery.

The special session was chaired by Prof. Irini Angelidaki (DTU), Prof. Dimitrios Malamis (Brunel University), Prof. Stefano Campanaro (UNIPD) and Prof. Laura Treu (UNIPD).

LIFE DIMITRA consortium, featured by Mrs. Sofia Mai (NTUA), Dr. Fabio Rizzioli (UNIVR) and Dr. Krzysztof Borowik (INS) presented the recent advances and practical applications developed within the project. Alongside the scientific presentations, attendees were invited to discover and register on the Knowledge Exchange Multi-Stakeholders Platform (KESP) through a dedicated QR code presented during the session. The platform serves as a collaborative hub where researchers, industry, farmers, policymakers and other stakeholders can exchange knowledge, access project resources and support the wider replication of LIFE DIMITRA’s innovative solutions.

We are extremely thankful to all speakers, stakeholders and conference attendees for their valuable contributions and engaging discussions!
